Groen-Wit started with almost the same eleven as a week ago against SK Beveren. The only change was in goal, where Nikola Ivezic, recovering from illness, was preferred by interim head coach Ryan Garry.
Lommel SK had an eventful opening half-hour. The visitors created a few minor chances but failed to threaten seriously. In the 11th minute, Groen-Wit struck first. Mo Salah delivered a sharp cross from the right, landing perfectly at the feet of Nicolas Siri. The Uruguayan didn’t hesitate and slotted the ball into the bottom right corner: 1-0.
Lommel SK sensed an opportunity to push forward, but Seraing responded swiftly. Less than five minutes later, a misplaced clearance by Nikola Ivezic led to a turnover. The visitors transitioned quickly, and Buggea, after getting past Dries Wouters, placed the ball into the far-right corner: 1-1.
After the equalizer, the game turned physical, leading to the first yellow card in the 18th minute. Joey Pelupessy attempted a bicycle kick clearance but instead struck an opponent, earning himself a booking. Lommel SK grew into the game and created two major chances after 25 minutes. First, Titi delivered a perfect free kick into the box, where Wouters headed the ball towards the corner, but the Seraing goalkeeper made a crucial save. Less than a minute later, Jason van Duiven attempted a backheel flick, but once again, the keeper was in the right place.
Two minutes of stoppage time were added to the first half, but no significant chances followed. However, just before the break, Lommel SK suffered a setback when Filip Stevanovic went down injured and had to be substituted during halftime. Alvaro Santos took his place.

The home side started the second half strongly, creating a chance within two minutes as Mo Salah delivered a dangerous ball across the goal, but no one was there to tap it in.
Ten minutes after the break, Seraing took the lead. A corner was swung into the box, then played back in from the second line. In an unfortunate moment, Jesper Tolinsson deflected the ball off his chest into his own net—1-2. The visitors continued to press and nearly scored again moments later, but Buggea’s shot struck the post and went wide.
After an hour, Seraing received their first yellow card when number 17, Boukteb, was booked. In the 67th minute, both teams made substitutions: Ibrahima Kebe replaced Joey Pelupessy for Lommel SK, while Chachbach came on for Boukteb for Seraing. Immediately after the changes, Mo Salah received a yellow card for a tough tackle.
Back in the Game
The booking didn’t deter Salah from making an impact. In the 70th minute, he brought Lommel SK level again. After a brilliant run down the right flank, he fired the ball into the near post, assisted by Jason van Duiven—2-2. The home side sensed the momentum and pushed for a winner.
In the final 15 minutes, Lommel SK had two major chances. First, Nicolas Siri headed just over the crossbar, and shortly after, Mo Salah’s powerful shot was stopped by the goalkeeper. Meanwhile, the game grew tense, leading to more yellow cards. Titi was booked for pulling down Lawson, and shortly after, Diarra from Seraing also received a caution.
The tension mounted in the final moments. Lommel SK pressed hard for a winning goal in the three minutes of added time, but the decisive strike never came. The match ended in a 2-2 draw, a result that gave both teams a little bit breathing space towards Jong Genk.
