Patro Eisden 4 Lommel SK 0
Lommel loses Limburgse Derby against Patro Wedstrijd - Verslag 08 dec In the Limburgse Derby, Lommel SK suffered a painful defeat. At Patro, Steve Bould's team lost by big numbers. Steve Bould started the derby at Patro with several different names compared to the game against KSC Lokeren-Temse. Filip Stevanovic made his first appearance in the starting line-up, while Henry Oware was also allowed to start from the beginning. Kluiverth Aguilar was also back in the team from the start. Diego Rosa was missing, as he became a father on Sunday. For Dries Wouters it was his fiftieth game in the Lommel SK shirt.

Green-White started the derby sharply and was immediately dangerous. Filip Stevanovic passed his direct opponent, but the Serbian's cross did not reach a teammate. The home side mainly sought refuge in long balls and free kicks and got their first chance from such a situation. Captain Jordan Renson slid the ball just past the post.

In a game that was not exactly full of good football, partly due to the particularly poor pitch, it was Patro that went to the edge of the permissible several times. The home team was therefore the first to go on the ticket. A hard charge by Simon Bammens on Dermane Karim was more than deservedly punished with the yellow card. It turned out to be one of the few exciting moments in Maasmechelen, yet the home team took the lead. Just before half-time, Keano Vanrafelghem suddenly found himself free in front of Nikola Ivezic. All Groen-Wit were convinced it was offside, but it turned out not to be. Patro's striker was allowed to pass and finished coolly: 1-0.

From bad to worse
The second half started with two unchanged teams. Encouraged by the lead, the home side immediately went in search of another goal. Within a minute, Patro had a good shot, but the ball disappeared in front of the goal. Lommel SK also appeared in front of the enemy goal in the opening phase. After a free kick, captain Lucas Schoofs was boxed hard by the Maasmechelen goalkeeper, but despite massive Green-White protests, the referee did not award a penalty.

Not even a minute later, the ball did go on the spot. It was on the opposite side, however, where a Patro player was floored. Now referee Bert Verbeke did intervene and Kevin Kis was given the go-ahead. He did not fail: 2-0. That was not the end of Green-White's troubles, because after a slip by Dermane Karim, Adnane Abid was suddenly free in front of Ivezic. The Patro number 48 shot hard the third goal behind our goalkeeper.

On the hour mark, things got worse for Green-White. Vanrafelghem outplayed Jesper Tolinsson, before depositing the ball behind Ivezic: 4-0. LSK still had chances for a second goal, but it would not come. Chances for Jason van Duiven and Lucas Schoofs were wasted. What remains was a hard and painful 4-0 defeat.

We will have to get our backs up quickly, as next week we host leader Zulte Waregem in our own Soeverein Stadium. In this match, we will again desperately need the support. There will also be a lot to do around the match and some nice prizes to win. More about this later... Tickets for this match are as always available at tickets.lommelsk.be.
