Nypan has long been regarded as one of the brightest talents in Norwegian football. He made his first-team debut for Rosenborg at just 15 years of age and quickly established himself as a regular. In 70 competitive appearances for the Norwegian club, he registered 14 goals and 11 assists.
In the summer of 2025, Nypan completed a move to Manchester City, signing a contract until the summer of 2030. During the first half of the 2025/26 season, he gained valuable experience in the Championship with Middlesbrough. He then returned to Manchester City, where he continued his development with the Elite Development Squad while regularly training with the first team under the tutelage of Pep Guardiola.
Naturally a central midfielder, the Norwegian is also capable of playing as an attacking midfielder, out wide or even as a striker. His technical ability, vision and versatility make him an exciting addition to Lommel SK's squad.
At international level, Nypan has represented Norway at every youth level from the U15s through to the U21s. In October 2025, he made his senior debut for the Norwegian national team.
Sporting Director Jeffrey van As is delighted with the club's first signing of the summer: "With Sverre, we are bringing in a young and creative midfielder. Despite his age, he has already gained experience at the highest level and has trained with Manchester City's first team. He will be a great addition to our midfield, and we are looking forward to seeing him in action for Lommel."
Sverre Nypan is equally excited about the move: "I already feel at home in Lommel. You immediately notice that this is a real family club with outstanding facilities. I see this as the ideal place to develop at this stage of my career. I'm looking forward to showing what I can do on the pitch and meeting the fans.”
With the arrival of Sverre Nypan, Lommel SK add another young player with enormous potential and international experience to the squad. The club looks forward to supporting his continued development and wishes him every success in green and white.
