Lommel SK returns to the Jupiler Pro League after 23 years! Promotion 23 may Lommel SK has managed to return to the highest level in Belgium after 23 years. In a thriller on the field of Dender, neither team scored, so LSK can call itself the winner of the play-offs over two games.

Lommel SK has made the dream come true in North Limburg after 23 years. Lee Johnson's team manages to keep a clean sheet on the field of FCV Dender and is therefore certain of promotion to the Jupiler Pro League. A great performance from a team that managed to conquer more and more hearts every week.

The Groen-Wit ended the regular season in fifth place, after seeing fourth place slip out of their hands in the last two games. Lee Johnson's team went into the Promotion Play-Offs as underdogs, but made an immediate impression. In the semi-finals, RFC Liège was easily dealt with over two matches: 3-0 at home, 1-2 in Liège.

In the final, a tough test was then scheduled. K Beerschot VA, the number three of the competition, first came to Lommel, after which the return in Antwerp was scheduled a week later. LSK also impressed here: they won 3-1 twice.

And so LSK was allowed to go to the most important competition of the year. The jump-offs against the last from 1A: FCV Dender EH. Again first a home game and then on the road. And again, LSK showed its teeth, by winning 3-2 at home. A sold-out Sovereign Stadium exploded after Zalán Vancsa's winning goal in the very last minute.

And so the assignment on Saturday evening in Denderleeuw was simple: not losing means promotion. And so it happened. An unparalleled save in the very last seconds by Matthias Pieklak was the start of the party. Lommel SK is back at the highest level in Belgium after 23 years! Promotie
