Filip Krastev departs Oxford United with immediate effect and will continue the season at Göztepe in the Turkish Süper Lig. The Bulgarian attacking midfielder was loaned out last summer to the Championship club. At the second tier of English football, Krastev made sixteen appearances, scoring one goal. He also featured once in the FA Cup. At Göztepe, he joins the current number four in Turkey’s top division.
“Filip has shown strong development over the past few years, which is why we saw the Championship as a good next step,” said Jeffrey van As, Sporting Director of Lommel SK. “However, after a thorough evaluation, we concluded that it would be better for all parties if Filip moved to another club. Göztepe are currently in fourth place and very much in the race for European qualification. We are curious to see how Filip will perform in this environment.”
