Dermane Karim makes the move to FC Lorient, who were crowned champions of Ligue 2 last season and will now compete in Ligue 1. For Dermane, this marks his second experience in a top-tier league, having played in the Belgian Pro League (1A) with KV Kortrijk after the winter break last season. The Togolese international joined Lommel SK from Feyenoord in the summer of 2024 and has since made 49 appearances in green and white, scoring four goals.
Sporting Director Jeffrey van As on the decision to loan Karim out once more: "Last season, Karim expressed a strong desire to play in the top division. We supported that wish during the winter transfer window. He left a good impression at KV Kortrijk, which has now earned him the opportunity to prove himself at an even higher level. Ligue 1 is a tough competition, but we’re confident he can handle it. We’ll be following his progress with great interest!”
