The title is more than well-deserved for U16 Lommel SK. After a somewhat hesitant start to the championship, earning just 4 points from their first 9, the team stepped up their game. They went on to win nine out of eleven matches, securing an impressive 29 points out of 33.

Lommel’s youth teams are all performing strongly in Elite 2. The U15 Elite team finished in second place, remaining unbeaten throughout the season. The U13 and U14 teams are also among the top in their respective rankings. Meanwhile, the U18 team finished in the middle of the table, featuring many first-year players, indicating a promising future.

Academy Director Kristof Van Hout is particularly pleased: "We are extremely proud of our U16 team for winning the title. It is the icing on the cake of what has been a fantastic season so far. Our other teams are also performing exceptionally well. This proves that a lot of hard work is being done here. We achieve this together with our coaches and many staff members. The players also show a great drive to improve, and that leads to outstanding results. This motivates us all to contribute to the development of our players."

"In recent weeks, several youth players have already earned minutes with the first team, and we want to continue this trend. This season, we also launched Jong Lommel in the third amateur division. With a very young squad, featuring many homegrown Lommel players, we are making great progress there as well. It is clear that the future of Lommel SK’s youth academy looks very bright. We are highly motivated to continue our work!"
