Welcome Jamal Baptiste!Men06 sepLommel SK has strengthened with new defender Jamal Baptiste. Jamal is a 19-year-old Englishman who can play at centre-back as well as at right-back. He played for English side West Ham United until last season. Parent club Manchester City managed to snare Jamal and he will play on loan in Lommel until January. Jamal Baptiste joined West Ham United at the age of eight. In the 2018-19 season, Baptiste was part of the Hammers' under-18 selection. Jamal later made his debut for West Ham's U23 side at the age of 15, becoming the second youngest player ever to represent West Ham's under-23 team. At the age of 17, he signed his first professional contract with West Ham. On 23 January 2021, Baptiste made his debut, as a substitute, for West Ham in a 4-0 win in the FA Cup against Doncaster Rovers. In the 2021-2022 season, Jamal featured one game in the starting line-up in the Europa League. Jamal also represents England's U19 side.
